Heal From Parental Absence | Healing Scriptures, Forgiveness, Acceptance, Childhood Trauma

Do you struggle to accept that your parents didn’t raise you? Has their absence caused you emotional or childhood trauma? Is it difficult for you to build friendships or intimate relationships? Do you suffer from constant anxiety or feel like you’re never enough?

You’re in the right place, Bright Souls. This podcast was created to support you on your emotional healing journey — to help you release fear, build trusting relationships, and walk with greater confidence.

Hi, I’m Beverly — a firm believer in Jesus Christ. My biological parents didn’t raise me, and I am a survivor of childhood trauma.

As a child, I endured mental and physical abuse. I longed for the love of my parents. I outsmarted therapists, fell into abusive relationships, medicated with alcohol and gambling, and even considered ending it all.

After spiraling into anxiety, I reached out for help — desperate to save myself from sinking deeper into a depression I feared I wouldn't return from.

Through counseling and with the help of God, I did the hard work of facing my past and learning to accept it. Today, I stand empowered — with greater confidence and a clear understanding of my purpose.

Bright Souls, I want to walk with you on your journey.

If you're ready to move beyond the pain of abandonment, rebuild your self-worth, lighten the weight of rejection, release anxiety, and step into your God-given identity…

Then grab a pen and paper, take some notes — because we’re about to journal this out together.

Hello Bright Souls!
Take the 10‑Day “Rewire Your Mind” Challenge (Join Here)
Why does loving yourself feel so hard — even when you’re grown, successful, and doing “all the right things”?
In this raw and deeply honest episode, Beverly (your personal faith‑filled cheerleader) takes you straight into the truth most people never say out loud: childhood trauma wires your brain for survival, not self‑love.
If you grew up with abandonment, emotional neglect, or inconsistency, your mind learned to protect you — not to nurture you. And now, as an adult, those old survival patterns still try to run your life.
In this episode, we confront that reality head‑on.
You’ll hear:
why your brain still reacts like the wounded child you once were
how survival mode blocks confidence, peace, and healthy love
why your past feels loud but doesn’t get to lead your future
how to interrupt old patterns with present‑moment thinking
the biblical truth about love — and why loving yourself is not selfish
how to take your thoughts captive and rewire your mind through faith, truth, and intention
This is not a soft conversation. It’s a wake‑up call for anyone who’s tired of feeling stuck, tired of repeating the same emotional cycles, and ready to finally think differently, love differently, and live differently.
By the end of this episode, you’ll understand:
Your future isn’t waiting on your feelings — it’s waiting on your thinking.
And you’ll walk away with practical steps and a grounding mantra to help you activate your mind, heal your identity, and move toward the life God designed for you.
Grab your journal, Bright Soul.
This one is deep, honest, and transformational — and it might be the episode that changes everything.
Enjoy!From Beverly

Hello Bright Souls!
This week’s Fact Check Friday: Trauma Edition is for every Bright Soul who learned to survive by wearing emotional masks. If you grew up without parents, felt unseen, or learned early to protect yourself, this episode will help you understand why those masks formed — and how to finally take them off without shame.
In today’s episode, we’re exposing the truth behind the mask trauma builds, and we’re breaking down why fight mode, hyper‑independence, perfectionism, and emotional shutdown feel so “normal” when you grew up in chaos. You’ll learn how these patterns were never personality traits — they were survival strategies your childhood forced you to develop.
In this episode, you’ll learn:• Why trauma chooses the mask long before you ever realize you’re wearing it• The 10 most common emotional masks people develop after childhood trauma• How to recognize when you’re performing instead of being present• Why the “I’m fine” mask feels natural when your nervous system grew up in survival mode• How chronic fight, flight, freeze, or attachment responses shape adult behavior• How God’s truth helps you live authentically, safely, and without pretending
If you’ve ever felt like you had to be strong, stay quiet, or hide your real feelings to be accepted, this episode will speak directly to your heart. You don’t have to perform to be loved — God sees the real you, and He calls you worthy.
Bright Soul, you were fearfully and wonderfully made. You don’t need a mask to be chosen.

Hello Bright Souls! In today’s Fact Check Friday: Trauma Edition, we’re breaking down one of the most misunderstood truths about childhood trauma — how it affects the body long after the moment has passed. This episode blends faith, science, and lived experience to help you understand what’s really happening inside you and why your healing matters.
I’ll share parts of my own journey, the physical responses my body carried from childhood trauma, and the powerful ways God began revealing what needed to be healed. Together, we’ll explore how trauma imprints itself on the nervous system, and how you can begin reclaiming peace, safety, and ownership of your healing.
This episode includes:•  Clear, research‑based insight on how trauma impacts the brain, nervous system, and stress response•  A faith-centered perspective on healing the body and renewing the mind•  Scriptural encouragement from Joshua 1:9, Ephesians 6:12, and John 8:36•  Practical tools — journaling, prayer, grounding, and therapy — to support your healing journey•  A reminder that you are not broken; your body has been protecting you, and God is ready to restore you
This conversation is for you, Bright Soul, if you’ve ever wondered why you feel anxious, tense, hypervigilant, or exhausted — even years after the trauma. You’ll walk away informed, empowered, and reminded that God cares about your whole being: body, mind, and spirit.

In this week’s Walk in Wisdom Wednesday, Beverly opens up about the courage it takes to confront childhood trauma — especially when the pain comes from a parent. She shares her personal journey of instability, emotional abuse, and the complicated road of reconnecting with both her mother and father as an adult.
Through scripture, reflection, and honest storytelling, this episode explores what it means to move from survivor to owner, to choose healing over silence, and to trust God’s timing in every step. You’ll learn why “no contact” isn’t a one‑size‑fits‑all answer, how trauma shapes the body and spirit, and why your relationship with your Heavenly Father must come first.
If you’ve ever felt unseen, unwanted, or unsure how to take ownership of your healing, this conversation will remind you that God desires your safety, your freedom, and your restoration.
Take a deep breath. Let your soul exhale. Healing begins one honest moment at a time.
